Women United Power

WUP & SGN

Women United Power (WUP) collaborates with SGN, and we believe in the strength of community and cooperation. By joining forces with other organizations, WUP works to empower, support, and uplift women.

No one can do everything, but together we can create positive change in society!

Goals

The goal of the project

The goal is to help women increase their energy levels, confidence, and ability to become self-sufficient. In collaboration with others, WUP aims to become a bridge-builder for diversity and inclusion. WUP believes in every woman’s ability to influence her future and offers support through community, networks, and practical courses. Quarterly meetings are arranged where women from different parts of the city (and the world) are given the opportunity to be inspired, share experiences, and grow together.

Digital inclusion for women – a question of democracy

Many immigrant women risk being excluded from the digital society due to language barriers, low digital skills, and limited knowledge of Swedish societal systems. Lack of trust in technology and in public institutions, as well as cultural differences and unfamiliarity with the Swedish welfare system, create a complex picture of exclusion. WUP is well-equipped to understand and meet women’s needs. Through our close work with the target group, we function as a bridge between the individual and society. We strengthen women’s digital participation through courses in easy Swedish, with access to interpretation in various languages – a concrete way to reduce language barriers and increase participation.

Digital inclusion is more than technology – it is about equality, accessibility, and democratic participation.

We work with a self-help approach and aim to increase the sense of co-creation and reduce segregation. We have carried out several different short- and long-term initiatives where we offer various types of learning, based on the idea that the target group identifies a need, and we then create support according to our capabilities. For example, through practical methods for stress management, self-care, and personal empowerment, inner resilience is built, creating positive ripple effects: stronger women → safer families → engagement in the local community → fewer young people involved in crime.
Digital inclusion is more than technology – it is about equality, accessibility, and democratic participation.
