Advocacy & Social Inclusion

Social inclusion aims to empower and marginalized people to take advantage of global opportunities. It ensures that people have a voice in decisions which affect their lives and that they enjoy equal access to markets, services and political, social and physical spaces. All individuals have the right to participate and have an opportunity to be an equal member of society. All rights holders have the universal right to not be discriminated against or ignored. SGN works to build the capacities of the socially excluded groups to advocate for their social rights. SGN wants the rights holders to claim and defend their own right to social inclusion, but also to work together to defend the rights for those who don’t have the opportunity to make their own voice heard.

Labour market inclusion

Equal rights and opportunities in working life means that all people have the right to equal support, offers, services and programs based on their conditions and needs. SGN works for an equal society and increased diversity. SGN gives people a chance to contribute to the labor market, which is a key to integration into society. What do you need to get out and start working in Sweden? This is one of the questions SGN works with to document one’s competencies. SGN supports  entrepreneurs to start or develop their business, and supports job seekers in their mission. We talk about what person would need to get a job,  a language course or maybe support to contact employers? One gets also information about what opportunities there are to validate one’s education and work experience.

Women Empowerment

Gender equality is a basic human right, and it is also fundamental to having a peaceful world. Girls and women continue to face significant challenges all around the world. Women are typically underrepresented in power and decision-making roles. They receive unequal pay for equal work, and they often face legal and other barriers that affect their opportunities at work.

SGN works to empower women in the marketplace, workplace and community and promote women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others. A key part of this empowerment is through supporting women with education and jobs so they can pursue meaningful work and contribute to their country’s economy later in life.

Youth Empowerment

Youth empowerment approaches include strategies which give young people opportunities for meaningful involvement and participation in their education or support services. SGN empowers youth through providing involvement opportunities, access to positive role models, knowledge and skills development and building a sense of personal agency or self efficacy. SGN works to create more and equal opportunities for youth in education and the labour market and to promote social inclusion and solidarity of all young people. SGN emphasizes on supporting the integration of young people; promoting the recognition of non-formal education, strengthening young people’s opportunities to reconcile working life; and encouraging intergenerational dialogue and solidarity.
